What am I at risk if I stay in the UK for more than six months without a visa?

The entry into force of Brexit has brought about the introduction of new immigration rules. Without a visa, European nationals cannot come to live and work in the UK. However, they are allowed to enter British territory as tourists for a maximum of six months. This means they are not allowed to work.
