There lives a light inside of all
That shines much brighter than the sun.
Though hidden beneath cloaks of angst
It bides its’ rest so patiently
To wait the invitation of a silent
Cloudless sky,
And bursts with buds of happiness
For all the hapless world to see.
The mind can be a crafty knave
Who muddles with perplexity the
Daily drudge that veils all hope
And blots the light from breaking through.
But the blessed heart will not be stilled
And finds the pathway of the soul
So beams may peek and bloom and shine
Til happiness, at last ensues.
Oh, wonderous day that leaps with joy
To kindle succor’s appetite,
And kindness lives and multiplies when
Left to rise and spread the light.
