North Carolina Could Be Next in Joining Initiative to Restore Balance Between State and Federal Government

North Carolina could be joining the Convention of States that seeks to restore the balance between the state and federal government using Article V of the United States Constitution.In March 2021, the North Carolina House passed House Joint Resolution 233, which calls for the state to be added to the convention, now leaving it up to the Senate to follow the House’s lead.
A Convention of States freedom rally will be held in Raleigh, North Carolina, on June 8 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., where there will be multiple speakers, including Convention of States Action (COSA) Co-Founder and President Mark Meckler.
“This has never been done before in American history,” Meckler told The Epoch Times. “The ability to do it is contained within the second clause of Article V of the Constitution.”
Article V gives states the power to call a Convention of States to propose amendments. It takes 34 states to call the convention and 38 to ratify any amendments that are proposed, Meckler said.
