One of the things I really like about a series is therevisiting of familiar characters. In Lure Of Forever you will find a lot ofcharacters from Lure Of The Blood. It was fun seeing how Ion and Marnie relatedto each other a couple of years on.
You don't have to read Lure Of The Blood to understand LureOf Forever. Each story stands on its own, but if you have read Ion's andMarnie's story, then I think you too will have a little chuckle at this scene.Well, hopefully you'll chuckle even if you haven't read it."Here, sit down, before you fall down, and I'll make you some breakfast. Knowing Lucas you'llneed the sustenance this morning."Heat rose in Coralie'scheeks at the implied suggestion and Ion laughed."Do as you're told. When she gets like that it's not worth arguing. She barged in here about anhour ago, insisting on cooking breakfast to keep your strength up." Heleaned forward and flicked Coralie's hair off her neck with a low whistle. "Andlooking at those, she was right, as usual."Coralie pulled her hairback over the tiny wounds and then thought better of it. She wasn't ashamed ofLucas's marks on her body and she twisted her hair up with the hair band on herwrist. Ion's smile deepened at her actions, his eyes once again resting on her neck and she stared him down. What was hisproblem? She jumped when a hugeplate, filled to the brim with eggs, bacon, sausages and toast appeared infront of her. Marnie's warm hand caressed her shoulder as she urged Coralie toeat."Go on. I want to seeall of that gone and I'm not leaving until you've eaten it all. You may want tostock up on iron, too. It'll take you less time to recover that way.""What?" Coraliesqueaked her response and her hand went to her neck involuntarily. "I'mfine, really. He didn't do anything I didn't want him to."Ion's smirk in response toher protests earned him a slap upside the head from Marnie. His wolf growled inresponse, but he smiled at his wife and envy poked Coralie with a red-hot stabout of nowhere. The look of love the couple exchanged—she wanted that so badlyher insides twisted in on themselves. She raised her coffee cup to her lipswith unsteady hands and glanced towards the door leading to the cellar. Thesunlight streaming into her kitchen just confirmed the futility of herthoughts. He was a vampire, an ancient one at that. He would soon grow boredand move on, and even if he didn't—he didn't age—she would. Every day she grewolder and one day he would wake up to an old woman and then… She screwed her eyes shut, disgusted with herself and her rambling thoughts. It wasn't as though he'ddeclared his everlasting love to her. Circumstances had thrown them togetherand he felt honor-bound to protect her. And he was a man— of course he'd takethe sex on offer. It was her own stupid mistake that she'd fallen in love withhim. He'd never made any false promises to her. She swiped away the tearrunning down her cheek with an impatient wave of her hand and opened her eyesto find Marnie and Ion both watching her."Really, I'm okay. Hedidn't hurt me." Ion simply raised aneyebrow at her. Marnie's eyes darted to Coralie's neck and she smiled, beforeshe looked away, seemingly lost in thought. Ion took her hand and murmured somethingthat Coralie couldn't quite catch and Marnie cupped Ion's cheek tenderly, before addressing Coralie with a smile."Of course he didn't.Lucas is in love with you, any fool can see that."Ion choked on the swig ofcoffee he'd just taken and Coralie wasn't at all sure she wasn't staringopenmouthed at Marnie. She couldn't be serious."Forgive Marnie. Shesees romance in the air everywhere." Ion's amused tones filled thekitchen, but his wife simply pulled a face at him."Don't listen to him. He's a typical male—can't see anything unless you hit him over the head withit." She dismissed Ion's warning growl with a wave of her hand and leanedforward to emphasize her point. "Is the great Lucas not slumming it rightnow in your basement?" She clapped her hand at Coralie's reluctant nod."Well, then. Don't you think he could have stayed in any number of places, should he have wished it? Why do you think he's so insistent to stay close toyou? The pack could handle your protection detail just fine." Marnie flickeda strand of her hair off her face with an impatient shake of her head and fixedher chocolate eyes firmly on Coralie. "No, this is personal and I couldn'tbe more delighted. It's about time he settled down.""Settled down?"Coralie didn't seem able to project her voice with any conviction over theblood rushing in her ears. Marnie had to be imagining things. "He doesn'tseem the settling down type.""Of course he is.Just takes the right woman to make these stubborn males see sense.""Watch who you're callingstubborn, little one," Ion interrupted his wife and Coralie mumbled herexcuses, whilst Ion kissed his wife senseless. She couldn't stay and witnessthis anymore. It was too painful.
Okay maybe chuckle and feel for Coralie. Things are about togo from bad to worse for my poor heroine…
Book Blurb:You'd think a three thousand year old vampire wouldbelieve in forever. Not Lucas. He has an escaped demon to hunt and no time forthe follies of humankind. When strip-o-gram Coralie arrives on his boat, sheawakens human instincts long buried, and protecting her becomes of paramountimportance.
Coralie, standing in for a friend, is mortallyembarrassed at having stumbled onto the wrong boat. The vampire wannabe sheencounters makes her body sing in ways she never thought possible. Finding outthat he is indeed the real thing throws everything she ever believed in intodoubt.
With the demon closing in and the future of humanityin peril will they manage to find their forever?

Author bioGlutton for punishment wouldbe a good description for Doris... at least that's what she hears on an almost daily basiswhen people find out that she has a brood of nine children, ranging from adultto baby and lives happily in a far too small house, cluttered with children, pets, dust bunnies and one very understanding and supportive husband. Domestic goddess she is not.
There is always something better to do after all, like working on thelatest manuscript and trying not to scare the locals even more than usual bytalking out loud to the voices in her head. Her sexy Alpha heroes and sassyheroines tend to be pretty insistent to get their stories told, and youwill find Doris burning the midnight oil on a regular basis. Only time to getany peace and quiet and besides, sleep is for wimps. She writes contemporary, erotic and paranormal romance.
German born, Doris now resides in the middle of a busy town in Bedfordshire/Englandand dreams of a nice big house by the sea, with plenty of space to run kids anddogs and let her imagination soar.
