The Russian invasion of Ukraine has triggered the worst flood of refugees in Europe since World War Two. According to UNHCR, more than 5.5 million Ukrainians have fled abroad since the invasion began on February 24. A further 7.7 million have been displaced within the country. According to statistics from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, nearly 30,000 people cross the border and return to Ukraine every day. So far, nearly 870,000 people have returned home.
