Audio links to sample of THE OTHER HALF OF THE GRAVE

Hi again! So many of you have asked me "When is the audio preorder link going to be up?" and "When do we get to hear a sample of the new narrator?"

I'm happy to say that the answer to both those questions is TODAY.

A reminder that even though I love my usual narrator, Tavia Gilbert, and I will stalk her (in a friendly, professional way) for future projects, I thought that with point-of-view flip in THE OTHER HALF OF THE GRAVE, a narrator flip would be a good thing, too, since it matches how this is Bones's story instead of Cat's. In fact, Tavia and I spoke, and she agreed that having this story in Bones's "voice" would further highlight the differences between this book and HALFWAY TO THE GRAVE. So, let me introduce the narrator for THE OTHER HALF OF THE GRAVE, British-born voice actor, Will Watt.

Listen to the first three chapters below, and you can preorder the audio version of THE OTHER HALF OF THE GRAVE at #Ad Audible.com (more audio retailers coming soon as they update their links.)

Listen to chapter three: https://soundcloud.com/user-35467388/the-other-half-of-the-grave-chapter-three?utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharing

Once again, you can preorder the audio version of THE OTHER HALF OF THE GRAVE at #Ad Audible.com (more audio retailers coming soon as they update their links.)

Now, to answer the obvious question: Is this how Bones sounds to you?

Just like how I went with a vibe for the cover because I could never find a male model who looks exactly how Bones looks in my head, I could never find someone who sounds exactly like Bones does to me. So, I went with a vibe for that, too. Will's narration has a wonderful blend of toughness, sexiness, and sardonic amusement, which is exactly the vibe I was looking for because those qualities are quintessential Bones. Of course, Will being a born Brit with that lovely accent didn't hurt, either. *wink*

In addition to the audio preorder link now being live, the paperback preorder link is also now available. You can preorder the paperback of THE OTHER HALF OF THE GRAVE here. (again, more retailers will be added soon.)

Note: The paperback version will NOT be the same size as the other Night Huntress books. Those were in mass market, and this is in trade. For a reference, trade paperback is slightly smaller than a hardcover, but larger than the bigger-than-mass-market size that WICKED ALL NIGHT came out in.

Mackenzie I hope that Will Watt as a narrator works for other readers, but this was a major miss for me. I only listen to audiobooks and Night Huntress is my all time favorite series.

Tavia is a MASTER at voicing both genders, so Will had some big shoes to fill. Unfortunately Cat's voice sounds so much like a man, it's difficult for me to take her seriously.

I don't know if it's the slow sultriness of Bones voice. but lines that should be funny completely fall flat which breaks my heart, because the humor in your books is one of the reasons I fell in love with Cat and Bones.

Like I said, I really hope other readers feel differently then I do but I can already tell this would be a DNF for me. That said, the story are writing are fantastic so I may try to give a printed copy a go.

Principessa First of all, let me say. I love ALL your books and have listened to all the audiobooks many times.
For this audio version, unfortunately, I can only agree with Mackenzie. Tavia's performance is outstanding.
With this narrator for the audiobook, I'm afraid I'd rather stick with the print version, which is certain to be awesome..

Anna Shulzhenko I've listened to the first chapter. Well, it was fine, I guess, and I definitely know that Bones is British, bit I struggle with their accent))
The voice was ok, although pronunciation of some words was foreign to me (well, I think they taught us British English at school, but it was long ago and I'm used to American pronunciation).

It's not possible for me anymore to buy anything on Amazon, so I'll gladly listen to other two chapters while they are available.
