A few weeks ago, a journalist interviewed me about my memories creating the Wee Wild Things line for Mattel. She’s writing a book about another doll line. Those were definitely some fun times.
The doll concept came from an outside company, but I was tasked with developing the line. (Three designers helped with some of the accessories.)
The limo was just a die cast model cut in two. (Think that concept came from another outside company.)
The limo was approved just by my rough cardboard model.
Nowadays I think I would create several versions with many of design elements. But, back then, I just created and boom - into production it went. 🤪
