The Cambridge Visitor Information Centre tourism office has been closed since October 2020, leaving the city’s 90 guides, including a dozen French-speaking guides, on the floor. “And, so far, there are still no plans to reopen as the recovery of the tourism industry hangs in the balance.”explained Brigitte Beresford Davies, a member of the French-speaking group, “City halls don’t really want to invest in us because they don’t think there’s a real urgency”.
