Old Man Irving?

Check out this brilliant image by superstar artist, Tara Billinger! This is one of the very earliest images of Little Poe and Irving Rat. Notice that Irving started out as a much older character. Like a wise old rat, rather than the younger, swashbuckling Irving we see in The Imaginary Voyages of Edgar Allan Poe. Both are totally cool, don't you think?
