this is the first book in the "incarnations of immortality" series, and it's my favorite of them all. this made me want to be death, as crazy as that may sound. though the character of zane is nowhere near as well-known as neil gaiman's death of the endless, i'm willing to bet the two of them would get along.

oooh. lightbulb moment. somebody write some fanfiction about that. stat!
