Kickstarter for Anthology

I have a story in this kickstarter for a fantasy anthology, along with Lynn Flewelling, Harry Connolly, Juliet McKenna, Robert Mancebo, and Julie Czerneda. The way kickstarter works, if the goal doesn't get met, the editor doesn't get the money and the book doesn't get produced. The minimum buy-in is $5.00, which gets you an ebook version of the book if the goal is met. (If the goal isn't met, you don't pay and nobody gets anything.)

Max I was about to kick in for $5, but ended up at a screen where Amazon was asking for my Social Security Number. That kind of gave me the creeps. Too bad, this would have been my first Kickstarter, too.

I'm sorry, Max. I'm not the one who posted the kickstarter (that's the anthology editor) and I don't have anything to do with the administration of the kickstarter site. I've never heard of it asking for SSN numbers, though. You might want to post your complaint on the site itself, where it might do some good.

Max I will look into it, that's for sure. Seems the Kickstarter site uses "Amazon Payments", which now requires SSN info. Weird. But, hey, I wish you luck, and soon I'll be downloading The Serpent Sea from BAEN's website any way. :)

Martha Wells That is weird! I don't think I've ever been asked for that by an online payment thing, but I've never used Amazon Payments, either.

Anyway, thank you! And Baen's Webscription is a great site.
