U.S. Navy stepping up counter-mine operations against Iran in the Persian Gulf
The Navy is doubling
the number of its minesweepers in the Persian Gulf. This is a good idea.
Anyone who remembers the tanker wars of the 1980s knows that the first
escalatory move by the Iranians would be to start tossing mines all over the
Gulf. More here.
