Mid Week Chat
Dear Readers,
How are you doing? Are you getting through your week alright? If you're like me, you are already tired and counting down the days until your weekend and next holiday.
This week, I've commenced writing the first two chapters of our Regency story and am happy with the name Helen Davenport for our lead character. For her love interest, I'm still playing with names, but I'm learning towards RIchard.
Regency story writing is a much more difficult undertaking than a contemporary romance. For as many Austen variation novels and Regency set books as I've read, I've come to find that there are quite a few gaps in my knowledge.
It's taken a fair amount of time to conduct a proper amount of research to ensure my story is somewhat accurate. As a historian in training, it's essential to me that details appropriately match the setting. Details are what make stories.
Timeline wise we are on track to have the first third completed by the end of this month and hopefully by the end of March I'll have the first draft complete. The regency novel will not be as long as books three and four, but I promise it will be just as sweet.
Speaking of book 4, we are about a week and a half away form having it returned to me by my editor. Once I have the marked up manuscript in my hands, I'll be able to set a firm release date. Will you all be terribly mad if I estimate it as a May release?
Stay warm out there.
