Romcom Review - Julia and Julia


Julie and Julia: Is it technically a romcom? Well, it's directed by , whose pedigree includes our benchmark best-romcom-of-all-time When Harry Met Sally, (mind you, she's also responsible for the execrable Sleepless in Seattle* - which, despite the title, ended up on top of the Empire State Building in NYC, go figure) and a number of other Romcom crimes, so you can make your own mind up on that one. Also, Julie & Julia is brilliant. And "Julie Powell's book was turned into a film" was HYSTERICAL.

Anthony Eaton Not my favourite film of all time. But then, (And this probably won't make me any friends, either) Tom Hanks irritates the life out of me...

Actually, I think Imogen found the 'Julie Powell's book..." bit a lot funnier than I did. Perhaps I've just got a defunct humour chip, at the moment.

rivka Tom Hanks can be irritating. But that's part of his CHARM! ;D

I just got both the Julie/Julia book and My Life in France via the new GR bookswap. They're currently balanced precariously on top of the rest of my to-read pile. ;)
