While Lindsay and Quinn dated throughout their first year of University, they broke up after Quinn's parents were murdered. When Quinn tracks Lindsay down (after a joint OPP/RCMP operation) to apologize, this happens:

"Lindsay, I'm sorry, I…" Quinn started.

Two gunshots fired. Pain radiated through her right leg. "Oh God," she cried. Her leg gave out and she fell to the ground.

"I've got him," someone called.
