Great Results - Promotion Extended

Thanks to everyone who helped spread the word about the FREE promotional giveaway of Voyage of the Dead on March 15. It was so successful that I decided to extend the promotion for one more day.

As of midnight (Pacific Time) the book had climbed to #5 in sci-fi-adventure, #10 in Sci-fi, and #18 in Horror on Amazon's Free Best "Sellers" List! That means that it shows up on the first page (top 20) in all three categories. It actually passed HG Wells' "War of the Worlds" in Sci-Fi at the last minute.

However, since it took all day to get there, it seemed like a shame to pull the plug. So, please tell your friends that it's not too late to get Voyage of the Dead for FREE. The promotion has been extended for another 24 hours.

Thanks again for your interest and support!

John Walsh David,

Good to read this, as I've been away the last few days and just saw this.

I'm pretty harsh with zombie stuff--I think the genre is on the verge of its own apocalypse of meaninglessness. How many more zombie stories can we see?

The answer is, of course, the same as for any genre with a rich history: Zero or a million, as long as they're well-written and entertaining.

I will check this out and get back to you, but I've already had my appetite whetted by the excellent first volume, which combines an almost 70's Big Novel cast ala Larry Niven's LUCIFER'S HAMMER with a worldwide disaster (ala...uh, LUCIIFER'S HAMMER :D ).

David P Forsyth Thanks, John. Lucifer's Hammer is still one of my favorite books of all time. I think there was an echo of it in my mind when I wrote Voyage of the Dead. Seriously, when I think of apocalyptic scrambles for escape to find safe havens intent on preserving civilization, Lucifer's Hammer, comes to mind (30 years later). So switch out the comet for zombies, the ranch for a boat, and the reactor for a refinery, and there you have it!

PS: This giveaway was for the first book that you already read and reviewed (admirably), so you haven't missed anything. :)

Well done on getting to top 20 :D
Ive said it before...it was a great 1st book...
I hope the 2nd installment gives you as much if not more success..."

Thank you, Steve. It actually climbed as high as #5 in Free Sci-Fi Adventure during the promotion. However, the even better news is over the past few days it has climbed up on the Paid charts too. Voyage of the Dead is currently #93 PAID in Science Fiction Adventure! It looks like the virus is spreading on schedule...
