A truly wild year for me, spent mostly in nomadic form. More on that below.
But first, publishing:
As usual, I edited the
Spring,
Summer,
Fall, and
Winter issues of HST Quarterly. Hard to believe this has been going on 5, soon to be 6 years now already!
Besides that, I didn't publish much this past year, with sole exception of
Quicksand Highway, the long-awaited follow-up to Judge Santiago Burdon's excellent
Stray Dogs and Deuces Wild.
Back in April, I abandoned what few earthly possessions I had and took off to Hawaii with nothing but a backpack and small duffel bag. Upon my arrival, I rented the cheapest room in Honolulu I could find, which I used as my base of operations for exploring the islands through Summer. By Fall, I'd found myself back on the mainland, bouncing from state to state as I caught up with folks I hadn't seen since before the pandemic began. Come Winter, I was cooling my heels back in Utah for a spell, resting up while plotting my next move. As of today, I am now living in my small, solar-powered RV, just going where the weather suits my clothes. It's not nearly as glamorous as it sounds, I assure you, but I'm finding that I like it well enough for now.
Here's wishing you all adventures of your own in 2022.
xoxo,
AG
