I don't care if you ever finish a series. Game of thrones was one of my favorite stories ever and got me into deeper lore and reading - for that I'll always be grateful. The whole premise of the story starts years after 'happily ever after' supposedly happened. But 'happily ever after' is just (IMO) what we tell kids to get them to stop asking questions like 'then what happened?' Real life rarely if ever wraps up so cleanly. I would love to read the the conclusion to the ASOFAI books, but I can accept never getting a nice, clean ending (I don't need one) and still be grateful that I got immerse myself in such a beautifully complex world.I'm excited for the new show!

No, he doesn't, just a little sorry for a good story spoiled by HBO

After 10 years, its obvious that the last two originally promised books will never be published. But your comment Eric of being "egocentric" is way off the mark! Check the definition...there are tens of thousands of people who are patiently (and some impatiently) waiting for these books, where as egocentric is thinking only of ONESELF. As an author and as truly wonderful the series has been, GRRM has been disappointing in follow through. Can you imagine if Tolkien had stopped after The Two Towers! Or if the late great Robert Jordan hadn't penned out the outline of the Wheel of Time series so that his wife could select Brandon Sanderson to finish it for him. So I'm not hopeful for The Winds of Winter, and especially A Dream of Spring.
