Oh And One Other Thing I Thought Of This Morning

I've seen some people claim Morrison and Snyder were "full of shit" when they said Grant was using Black Bat in Batman Inc.

But apparently Scott said he wasn't allowed to use her in the first issue of Batman because canonically, she's still supposed to be in China.

And Talia is the main villain in Inc. And her fortress…..is somewhere in the South China Sea, I think?

I was told the same thing, so I suspect it's absolutely correct.

I've talked about this a lot, people seem to misunderstand how these things work. I liken it to a big round table, and there's a pile of crayons in the middle. One of each color.

Then all the writers, artists, and editors call 'dibs.'

Sometimes, we get the crayon we want. Sometimes, someone else called it first and we have to wait.

That's understandable. It would be nice if we could all share, but sometimes it just isn't possible. You really need THAT particular crayon.

What screws everyone up is that sometimes the person using the crayon we all want to use can't color their picture as quickly as they had hoped…something else distracts them. Then, it's a crap situation where THEY can't use the crayon and WE can't use the crayon. 

It happens. Sometimes, it really is worth the wait because the picture is that cool. 

Even the biggest of names don't get to use every color they want at the exact time they want it. There's a kind of democracy about it, but it does lead to delays, sadly.  :(

It basically sucks in that case.

PS. I think I went too far with the crayon analogy.
