Ford Maverick pickup: First Step back from Super-size Me?

Read Dan Neil's piece in WSJ on the Ford Maverick.  At $19,995.00 MSRP, it sounds like this truck is heading in the right direction. Only, the crew cab thing is so...ungainly. Will FoMoCo would ever do a 2-door/ longer-bed/work truck edition? As in yesterday's classic F150 post?
