It is (finally) done!
Two years ago I was done. Done with design, done with doing work I did not enjoy doing. I didn’t have the guts to say “no” to jobs that I didn’t want to do. The joy and excitement I used to feel when a new project came along had disappeared.
It was time for a change.
I decided to quit design. I sent out a mail to my clients to say “adios” and I set out to find my purpose and calling.
I had many ideas of what my new thing could be….I love plants so an online indoor plant shop crossed my mind, perhaps an online shop/platform that has to do with interiors, photography, I contacted the local snorkelling company to see if I could become a guide….and the list goes on.
Counselling has always been something I felt drawn to, so I did a counselling course through the Open Door Crisis Centre and became a lay counsellor at Umhlali SAPS.
BUT…. I still loved design, layout especially.
I’ve been noticing some cool journals for children online. The idea for a joy (or gratitude) journal started forming, and it just felt right. There are many similar products out there but I wanted to create my own journal for my kids. The idea excited me, it was something that I believe in because I’ve been journaling myself for many years. So the JOY JOURNAL FOR KIDS was born.
In between (still) taking on some graphic design projects, kids, and LIFE….almost two years later, I have finally finished the layout of the journal.
