Editor Picks — Our favourite Posts On CRY

Sorry, we’re a bit late on getting our picks out this week. Life happens, but we haven’t forgotten so here we go; our favourite pieces from CRY Magazine. Remember, we’re choosing pieces from any time period. Could be this week, could be last week, could be last year.
KernAll of the pieces on CRY are incredible (that’s why we publish them), but sometimes there’s a story that we feel honoured to host. For me, Everything I Wanted To Tell My Dad When He Was Dying is that piece. The Silent Wave took vulnerability to another level and paired that with writing and storytelling that wraps you in a bear hug. Favourite excerpt:
We’re much the same, you and I. We both feel pain so deeply that everything hurts. The world hurts, it’s a bitch of a place, whenever we’re honest with ourselves.
Our lives are themed with grief and loss. Things affect us too deeply. I’m similarly empathic, must have gotten it from both of you.Safia
My favourite post on CRY right now is I Humbly Reject Your Rejection by Nada Chehade. Infused with humour and wit throughout, Nada gives us a glimpse into what she calls “therapy under the covers” — a tactic she uses to re-channel the negative voices in her head.
This excerpt made me laugh:
I read an article about a guy who kept boasting to his friends about becoming a published author for ten years and never did. I kept laughing and laughing. Then I realized I was five years in and lost my shit. Six. I’m six years in.[image error]
