Proud doesn’t begin to tell the story. For what this girl has been through, there’s no heads hanging or any reason to consider this anything but a win. She’ll continue to recover, serve her country on a deployment in a few weeks, and come back better. Three years off is rough by itself, but when it’s due to severe health issues and essentially forced to fight up a weight class against a title challenger for this one, to get her back was a big ass W. The degree of difficulty behind this was exceptionally high. Fortunately, we get to coach an exceptional person.
