Why Authors Write
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been asked why I write. This question comes up so often that I’ve been thinking about why I write a lot lately. Authors spend hours alone writing. They miss out on a great many things in order to create stories for the world to enjoy. This article perfectly highlighted the complex reasoning for authors and the reasons they write. It goes beyond monetary successes and career highlights because writing is not about its societal success. Writing is emotional, tiring, and beautiful because writers have stories to share and experiences to relive with their intended audiences. As you said, many consumers see literature as a temporary object of consumption before they move along and fixate on art forms that last longer. But what some consumers do not understand is that literature lasts. Writing can last and have a lasting impression on writers and readers alike.
