1,079 days between fights will challenge you each and every day to ask yourself if you love what you do. Three years of unimaginable health issues from literally working too hard, changing gyms, having to monitor health on a daily, even hourly basis at times…believing she was cut at one point…not to mention all the emotions tied to it, let me tell you about this one.

I was fortunate enough to be there when she was cleared by the @ufc in late July. This one walked downstairs from the meeting after being told she could fight in the fall. Let me tell you about this one…we got to the lobby at the #UFCPI, and by the time we got to the couch, she had texted her agent, @jasonkhouse, at @iridiumsportsagency. Within five minutes accepted a fight against a former title challenger; without a sliver of hesitation. In a coaching career that spans over 20 years, it was the boldest act I’ve ever seen.

About to close the books on a fight camp many thought might never happen again, and it was flawless. Lots of people fancy themselves as tough, but don’t really know one way or another. She does, though…as do those close to her. While it was hard to see her at the bottom, it’s been a life altering experience to see this one rebuild herself firsthand. This one is as much a fighter as I’ve ever known. What else can you expect from a woman who teaches #concealcarry for a side hustle and moonlights in the #airforce.
