Gay content has always been censored. Up until recently it was even censored in publishing with regard to books and magazines. It doesn't have to be adult gay content. It could be rated G and totally safe, but if there is a gay character or gay content there will always be certain straights who will censor it. Mostly, they either find it offensive or they believe it's not safe for children. They have no idea that there are...and always have been.....
