Remembering Ruby: Ruby and the Leaves

It’s now about two years ago that Ruby was first diagnosed with advanced kidney disease. Sometimes it still seems like it was just yesterday, and at times it’s still incomprehensible that my little girl is no longer with us. I’m grateful I have eight years of her column to look back on to trigger specific memories, because much as we don’t want to believe it, time does blur what we remember.
