Second week of October!

Hello, Write Edge readers! Welcome to the second full week of October. We’re hurtling toward the holiday season, and this one, in particular, is quite special to me because of the release if my novella, The Truth About Elves. I’m humbled and honored by the wonderful reviews it’s getting and the notes and pictures you all are sharing to let me know you’ve gotten your copies and are enjoying this story. Keep the notes and photos coming! And if you’d like more information on the novella, how to order it for yoruself, or would like to read reviews, go to my author website now!

Here on The Write Edge, we’re marching forward with our regular content. First, this week’s short story. I have to admit, I had a lot of fun with this one. When I saw the prompt, I thought I might go a more serious route. Then my fingers and imagination took me somewhere else. Here’s the excerpt:

“Good. Thank you. Now, as is very obvious, Stonehenge has gone missing.”

“Yes.”

“When did you first notice it gone?”

Read the whole story now on The Write Edge Writing Workshop!

In the middle of the week, I’ll share two brand new book reviews with you. The first will be a novel. I read last week’s release We Are Not Like Them by co-authors Christine Pride and Jo Piazza and will tell you first thing on Wednesday what I thought of the book.

Then, later in the day, I’ll share a review with special significance to writers. The dynamite duo of Angela Ackerman and Becca Puglisi have a brand new thesaurus lined up for release. The Conflict Thesaurus: Volume 1 comes out tomorrow. Find out on Wednesday what I thought about it. Both reviews are coming your way on The Write Edge Bookshelf!

Finally, Instagram Friday. I’ll share another quote from The Truth About Elves — new ones go up every week between now and Christmas Eve! — as well as other “bits and bobs” from my writing and non-writing life. Check out previous posts on my Facebook author page or by going to Instagram and using my handle, @EktaRGarg.

In the meantime…

Get the vaccine.

Wear a mask.

Wash your hands.

Show a stranger some kindness.

Have a wonderful week, readers!

E.R.G.
