Director Roman Polanski has been charged with defamation

French-Polish filmmaker Roman Polanski has been charged with defamation following a lawsuit filed against him by Charlotte Lewis, a former actress who accused him of raping her, French television BFM TV reported today.

Lewis, 54, met the director, 88, in 1983. She was an ambitious performer, and he was already a famous artist, and on that first day, she said, in 2010, Polanski raped her in his Paris home.
