Macron seeks to ease tensions with Algeria

French President Emmanuel Macron said on Tuesday that he was seeking to ease diplomatic tensions with Algeria after the African country decided to call its ambassador to Paris for consultations and close its airspace to French aircraft.

“I want de-escalation, we have to keep talking. There will be disagreement, but we have to keep going this way,” he told France Inter in an interview.
