Reading poetry versus hearing it read

I know that there are more people writing poetry than reading it these days, and poetry collections generally do not sell well (true enough of my own). But some of the poetry I post on two of my favorite sites (HelloPoetry.com and AllPoetry.com) do get a surprising number of reads.
