Not Quite Perfect

I got to return to the studio and hear the mixed tracks of the three songs we recorded a few weeks ago. Overall, they sound pretty good, but hearing everything together, we acknowledged that there are places that need some polish. Some of the vocals could use another take. A couple guitar solos aren’t quite what we wanted. There’s a little too much violin at the end of one song, and the rock organ wasn’t rocking enough. Oh, and our sax player wasn’t there for the recording. It just isn’t right without the sax. So, we’re going back in to do a little more work.

I’m kind of anxious to release the tracks—it’s been a long time coming—but there’s no deadline, and I certainly don’t want to have regrets later for things we can take a little extra time to fix.
