The Trouble With Poets
The trouble with poets
Is that they sound so clever.
But have you noticed
How they never answer
Those profound questions,
Never resolve those
Sonorous ambiguities?
Singing isn't so hard.
Birds and frogs can do it.
Getting the world
To tell you one, simple truth, though,
Is like pulling teeth.
