Norway opens election day with the left as the favorite to regain power

Polling stations opened today in most of Norway at 9:00 local time (7:00 GMT) to start the day the center-left opposition bloc emerges as the favorite to win the parliamentary elections.

Nearly 3.9 million Norwegians have been invited to the polls to elect the 169 MPs who make up the Storting (parliament), in an election where schools will close at 21:00 local time (19:00 GMT).
