Recently I was asked by author Dicy McCullough, who was unknown to me at the time, to review her three children's books. Dicy's first book,
Tired of My Bath
, made me laugh out loud because I happen to have a daughter much like her character, John Allen, who will do anything to get out of taking a bath. I think the rhyming verse which tells the tale of how John Allen decides mom knows best
about bathing is a perfect read for all you parents with reluctant
bathers of your own!
Dicy's second book,
Tired of School
, tells yet another tale of John Allen and how he is tired of going to school; but then when summer is underway, he becomes bored and wishes he was back at school. This book took me back to my youth. I remember always being
excited at the beginning of school; but then about halfway through the
year, I remember thinking that summer would never arrive.
Tired of School
is a nice book
for children five to eight.
Dicy's Third Book,
Tired of Being Different, isn't available on amazon yet; but when it becomes available you will surely find it a wonderful tale as well. John Allen's family adopts a mother dog and her puppies and one puppy just isn't like the others.
Tired of Being Different is a story of how being different can turn out to be a good thing.
Dicy, a retired music teacher, has created a fun character. I look forward to seeing more of what she has in store for John Allen in the near future. To find out more about this author and her books, check out her website
