The Taliban are committed to protecting Chinese interests in Afghanistan

Qatar’s deputy director of the Taliban’s political office, Abdul Salam Hanafi, assured this Thursday that his group “will never allow anyone to use Afghanistan to jeopardize China’s interests” during talks with Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister Wu Jianghao, Chinese media reported.

Hanafi assured that the Islamist group is willing to “continue to develop friendly relations with China,” the Asian power ministry said in a statement.
