How does shadow work, work during Lucid Dreaming #The Purge

Purge and purify, purge and purify. I avoided watching The Purge franchise for quite some time. I can’t lie, I did watch the very first one, but after that, I kind of lost interest. The Purge reminded me of Saw, and how it started off really good, but just tapered off towards the end. Then, boredom seeped in and I found myself watching Purge Election Year. And that’s when I got it. Now, if you’ve watched any one of the movies in the franchise of Purge, you would think that it was a movie about American society, indulging in one night of mayhem, murder, and misery, at least for some people. However, if you were to do a deep dive, you’d realize that the purge represents a collective nightmare, a dreamlike state of horrors that we all share, and in short, work to purge. While The Purge works to cleanse the underbelly of society, nightmares and shadow work, seeks to cleanse toxicity from the body and mind. I am going to explain to you how in this video, so please stay tuned.

Is Shadow work dangerous

The Purge wasn’t the first movie to explore the collective unconscious mind. It was the legendary Stephen King who wrote the first novel about a waking nightmare. The Shining is a classic horror story of how a haunted house could creep in and corrupt a sane mind. The ghosts, or spirits of the hotel, represent the voices and the memories that we inherit from the ancestors, or the collective unconscious mind. I go off on a major bitch rant in my lucid dreaming videos, about how people like you and me are cut off from nature. No, not living off the grid nature. We are cut off from our human nature. Much like Jack Torrance, our minds have split, and we can no longer determine what is real from what is imagined. In truth, we can no longer determine who we are, as opposed to what society wants us to be.

Shadow work and the effects of trauma

Besides, we’ve all heard about soul contracts, soul groups, and destinies. Our ancestors believed that we decided to come to earth to fulfill a certain mission or fulfill a contract that we made with the great divine before reincarnation. But sadly, we get side-tracked. We get lost in the noise, and all the distractions that have come to be commonplace in the modern world. Or in a really bad situations, our lives are used to fulfill the destiny and dreams of others.
Yet, at nighttime, your soul remembers, and works to remind you of your mission through your dreams and yes, even your nightmares. Let’s take a look at Charlize Roan, also known as Charlie, from The Purge Election Night. As a young girl, she was imprisoned by a purger, and thus forced to watch her mother, father, and brother die. As a result, she is running for office, vowing to end the purge once and for all. Her adversaries, a group of elites who are also known as The New Founding Fathers of America (NFFA) views Charlie as a threat. As a result, they revoke immunity for government officials, and that includes senators like Charlie Roan. And thus, plots to assassinate her on purge night.

The Purge Election Year, is a collective nightmare

The movie progresses with Charlie being attacked by a group of militant soldiers, who look like white supremist to me. And it continues with her escaping into the night, to battle the purgers who peruse the streets, looking to unleash their wrath and fury on innocent and unfortunate bystanders. Then, there is a series of unruly deaths, mad men with screaming victims strapped to their cars, people being beheaded by a guillotine, and a search and rescue team, helping people in need. With all the sensationalism, gore, and chill, you would think that this movie is really about cheap thrills. However, this movie has some depth. For one, our bodies and mind go through a purge and it doesn’t just happen once a year. It happens every day in your dreams.

Shadow work and lightwork

You see, your body only has so much energy. So, it needs to prioritize how that energy is going to be used. As a result, it purges, destroying thoughts, emotions, memories, and yes even bacteria that is harmful, or not useful to the body. But with the inundation of information and also toxic energy and thoughts from the collective unconsciousness, we take on far too much energy. This makes it difficult for our body to perform a good purge. As result, the negative energy works very much like a cancer cell, hiding out, working like a sniper, taking out other healthy cells in an organ, until the whole body is riddled with disease. Your nightmares are indeed an indicator of the battle that is raging withing your body and soul. Do you have dreams that someone is chasing you? Do you have dreams of falling? Do you have dreams of being attacked? These dreams all mean something. And yes, it means that you may be manifesting some of your worst memories and suppressed emotions. However, it also means that the battle between good and bad is waging inside of you, and guess what, the bad is winning. Or, in other words, the shadow is winning.

Shadow work explained

The shadow, or the shadow side of self is a psychological term for everything that we can’t see within ourselves. The shadow can also be considered the dark side of self, mostly because it contains primitive instincts, negative human emotions, and impulses like rage, envy, greed, selfishness, and the lust for power. In other words, the shadow self is our disowned self. And develops as a result of us forfeiting a specific need in order to gain approval, acceptance, or pleasure. We learned that we get more respect and validation when we make more money, even if we had to lie cheat and steal to get it. We learned that if we dress provocatively, that we will attract more attention from men, even if it is the wrong kind of attention. We learned that if we lie to women, we could have sex with them, even if we leave them hurt and bereaved in the end. Our mind splits and we develop a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hide personality disorder, where the dark side will rise up and destroy everything that the good side has achieved.

Shadow work and healing

The dark side is the false identity that many of us take on. This happens when the conscious mind goes on autopilot and the shadow part of us takes complete control. This is when we lose sight of who we are, and start behaving in ways that give us instant gratification as oppose to happiness and contentment. Inside, the war is still raging, where the body and mind is purging more and more of the authentic self. The body does this, until the bad is able to take over, and thus live a life that is fixated on lust, power, and greed. We lose ourselves in this battle, forgo our purpose and destiny and instead settle for a life of cheap thrills and pleasures. Yet, the good part of us isn’t completely dead. It’s still fighting for its life, and you will dream about it, or some cases suffer through nightmares so that you can get back on track. However, the dream state is the best time for you to finally defeat this enemy. You can do this by being aware that you’re dreaming, and then set out on your own purge.

The benefits of lucid dreaming

I believe that the dream like state is the most powerful time to do any shadow work, manifesting, and magick. Naturally, it is important to understand that in order for us to manifest our desires, or to fulfill our life purpose, we must always purge. Sounds harsh to anyone who is into toxic positivity. However, our bodies naturally purge, our white blood cells work tirelessly to destroy bacteria that is foreign and threatens the body. Waste and other harmful bacteria leave the body when we urinate and defecate. And our minds work to purge toxins at nighttime. However, we must aid the body, by completing a mental detox. And sleep, during lucid dreaming is perhaps the best time. Many of our bodily functions have shut down, enabling us to do some spring cleaning. I had my own little episode of deep cleaning while dreaming. While I was in the dream like state, I could see residue, or dark and sticky matter leaving my body. It evaporated into the air like a thick smoke. And ever since then, I made it a practice to do some spring cleaning. As a result, I am incredibly focused. And more importantly, negative energy doesn’t stick to me like it once did.

How to lucid dream tonight

Once you’re able to take control of the dream, you can start to rid your mind, body, and soul, of all the repressed and bottled up emotions and memories. You can fight them, beat them back to the recesses of the collective unconscious mind. Or, you just become stronger. You can become so strong that you become almost immune to the negative entities and memories that pervade the mind. I believe that this was the case in The Purge Election Year. Charlie was adamant on letting her enemies live. She had so many opportunities to kill them, especially after they tried to kill her. Yet, she truly believed that if she killed her enemy, she would in turn, succumb to the dark side, her shadow self would win, and she would lose herself completely. Also, she would lose sight of everything that she had been fighting for. So just remember, you can never let your shadow side win.

You can reveal and fight the darkness that plagues your waking life, by shedding light on your shadow while lucid dreaming.
