The Darkness IS The Light

More often than not, pain, loss, heartache, disaster, and darkness make you more creative than plain old happiness and 'good times'. Life is not a bouquet of rainbows and lollipops, it is a thorny pit of cruel and tough training and memory-making lessons, all so the soul can learn something valuable that will help something else somewhere at some point, in this life or another. all that is dark, unknown, and unknowable has inspired Art and Science over the centuries. Why else do we do what we do if it is not to ignore, or forget, the Darkness by focusing instead on the Light? We discovered fire so we can rid ourselves of blindness. Sometimes, we create art or craft science that relies on, or uses, some form of 'darkness'. Perhaps we're trying to make sense of the Great Unknown, and that too only when we can muster enough courage to spend a while in its presence before we can't take it anymore and immediately, almost urgently, turn back toward the Light. Then we answer the call of Darkness again, when it sings softly in our inner-ear about mysteries and enigmas that are beyond our comprehension, and our reach. So the cycle goes, rinsing and repeating, Light and Dark, forever at war, tugging at our souls, forever and for always. even Death does not part us from such sweet sorrow slicing so salaciously into the very essence of what makes us Human.
