"The Curator of Incendiary Libraries" is a 2016 work by Riel Jaramillo Hilario, a bright light snuffed out by Covid.
These photos show the development from the preliminary drawing to the finished sculpture that now stands guard over my library. Riel said it: "shows an attempt to "rescue"books (and knowledge) that are already smoldering. I was thinking of Aeneas and Rizal's Triumph of Science in making this work."
