Mr. Carpenter is lowered down into the shaft. His nerves are on fire, eyes sharp, heart pounding. Nothing like this has been discovered in over a hundred years. The first doorway leads to an antechamber. When he enters the antechamber, he realizes it’s a false door. A dead end. Or is it? Comment.
