Twice a year I have this urge to clean house. I always do a purging of unnecessary items in December since it is the end of the year and I feel a need to prepare for a new beginning. But the other time strikes me at the strangest time and usually doesn’t stop until I have gone through all of my closets, drawers, basement, and garage to get rid of items.
And I am in the cleaning mode as I write this. I released my second book last Monday and I think after that, I had a need to not worry about writing for a little while and so my brain became preoccupied with cleaning. Not sure that this is a good trade off, but it is what it is
I spent time tonight in my basement sorting through storage shelves and reorganizing. The funny thing is that I don’t have a lot of ‘stuff’ but yet twice a year I find things to get rid of.
Once I finish cleaning the house, it will be time to clean the cobwebs out of my brain and start figuring out what I want to write next. I have a lot of ideas, but they need to be sorted and placed in a keep or discard pile.
Maybe cleaning the house will unlock the idea of my next story (and dare I say, series?).
Stay tuned!
