The Language of Love
Photo by 德綱 曾 on Unsplash“Does papa say, ‘I love you?’ , to you ma?”
The mother was surprised at such a bold question from her toddler.
She pondered for a while and answered, “No, not really.”
“Papa, do you not love ma?”
It seemed the little one was hellbent on getting to the root of this.
As it was the father’s turn, he felt a bit like being under trial.
He coughed uncomfortably and answered after some thought, “Dear one, do you know that I love you?”
The infant nodded in a heartbeat, which gave the father some confidence.
“I am sure your mother knows it too then. That I love her very much.”
The mother blushed at this, but it seemed the father wasn’t done.
“You see, sometimes it is not necessary to say it so much in words.”
Both the mother and child nodded as they understood what he meant.
After all, if not out of love, why would he do the small and big things?
Right from waking them up every day to making sure they slept on time and everything else in between.
