Rainbow Snippets July 4th, 2021

Wow. My last entry was the last day of February. Since then I found out the kitty love of my life had cancer, we tried to make as comfy as humanly possible, but he lost the fight on June 4th, a month ago today. Even looking at his urn makes me weepy now. I want my baby back
Fortunately, my amazing husband, family, and friends have all been very supportive and allowed me to be there for him when it was crucial. He passed painlessly in my own arms.
Now, with the stress of worry diminishing, I remember that I am still an author and still capable of creating this art form. It’ll just take time and coaxing to get the words out. Two years of my life were spent worrying over Jack; but he’d want me to live my best life while waiting to see him at rainbow bridge.

Here’s my snippet for the week: (see below)
This week I pick up after the performance is over and Billy and Erik are alone in the garage. Poor Billy has been raked over the coals with Erik’s lack of feelings before; but his loyalty cannot be denied.
What is Rainbow Snippets? It’s a group of LGBT+ authors who post six sentences (or more) from a current WIP, published work or even something they’ve read that they want to rave about. Click on the link below the rainbow to be transported to a place of wonder where you will find tasters of everything from sweet romance, to hot and steamy, to fantasy and sci-fi.
I’m changing gears completely and going to a beloved co-authored work and a series of Upstaged. Written by myself and Cheryl Headford (Nephy to some) in 2012! Over the course of two years we wrote 12 books together! It was the most insane, wonderful time of my writing life! We hope you love the result. The first four books are published and up for sale at Extasy Press and on Amazon. Here is book #1. Upstaged: Opening Act
Blurb:
Wannabe singer and band front man Erik Von Nordgren hates snarky brit Asher Berkley with a passion. From the moment he turns up at practice with his twin sister Daisy, who is one of the band the two have hated each other.
Through a series of ‘tit for tat’ incidents they annoy, frustrate and exasperated each other. The die hard goth with purple eyes and the hard core rocker with dreams of the big time have nothing in common and no need to cross paths. Except to wind each other up.
Until the day that Erik throws Asher in the school pool, when everything begins to change. Erik is so far in closet he’s in Narnia and Asher has a dark past and trust issues that stand in the way of any relationship, let alone one with the brash American who hurts him every time they try to get together.
A relationship doomed from the start, or so you’d think.

“Billy, I’m not gay.”
“Like fuck you aren’t. As for us, it was real all along, and you’re as gay as I am. You just like to hide things. Deep. You like to bury anything real until it explodes, like we did in bed. Think about that one for a second, Mr. Von Closeted Nordgren.” He shoved two fingers into Erik’s chest then walked off.
