When The Nest is Empty

Picture This is a photo from a couple years ago and as I went through old pics, this one still stopped my scroll. The minimal breeze off Lake Ontario cooled the humid sweat from my skin as I circled the nest for the right picture. Dad watched from the hill behind the garage.

As I walked towards Dad looking at my camera I smiled. It wasn't the photos that made me smile, it was my dad's voice calling to me. "Did you get a good one?" I remembering looking up and enjoying his smile. I was grateful and this feeling returns each time I see this photo. Life truly is about savoring the moments and listening when Dad calls because he "sees a blog" waiting for me.

Here's the deal, Dad is the one who called me after mowing his lawn to let me know there was a blog waiting for me and the sun was "just right". I've been blogging since 2011 and there have been many a blog that were birthed from one of my father's phone calls. I pray there are years of phone calls from my dad when he sees a blog waiting for me after mowing the lawn, checking the garden, or taking the dog out.

There is a lot of good in the world when we have a positive outlook and our eyes open to see all that is around us. Choose the positive and joy, it's worth it.
Do you recognize the "blogs" waiting for you to write?
