So this might be asking for a world of pain, but my curiosity has finally won out. I’m not a Supernatural fan, have never seen an episode in my life (or wanted to), but I’ve been aware of it on a peripheral level since at least the late 2000’s. I know about the love-confession-straight-to-hell thing but I’m not up on any of the details. Can someone point me to a succinct post or essay on a general history of the show/fandom for an outsider to understand? I ask this with apprehension… not looking to fall down a wormhole, just… morbidly curious, lol. Even a bullet-point form post would be great. Like, how it started (the show and whatever shenanigans around it), what changed and how when Misha was added to the cast, any relevant fandom background info necessary, how the show ended and where things stand now. Just if someone knows of such a resource for a newb who is - surprise surprise - someone who writes research briefs and looking to analyze this from an academic standpoint. Lol.
