Mon-Dos: Goals For The Week Ahead

Loves,

I’m always fascinated by Nicole Dieker’s Mon-Dos lists (and Mon-Dids!) so I figured I’d have a whack and see if I like doing them as well.

Might be useful to set my priorities for the week ahead… and it might supercharge my accountability by sharing it publicly. I’m an “Obliger” according to Gretchen Rubin’s “Four Tendencies” (an absolute excellent productivity framework) which means I find it helpful to share my goals with someone else. Putting it on a blog for the world to see just intensifies my desire to perform that much more.

With that in mind, I want to say I’m sharing this in the spirit of an experiment. I may not find it useful to do this on an ongoing basis. I may never refer to it again. As much as I love productivity, I love self-care, my health and my family more. So if this shits me at any moment, I reserve the right to throw it in the bin.

The to-dos in this list are mere OPTIONS. A bucket list of possibilities. It’s not a fail if I don’t get them all done, or even half of them. I may also add to, edit, and delete from this list if priorities change.

Also, sage advice from my husband:

“I get that you’re feeling really excited to do lots of things at the moment, and that’s really wonderful. But I need you to NOT hurt yourself in the process. I don’t want you to injure your back again and be unable to walk. Or inflame your foot injury. Or burn yourself out. I’d really quite like to just enjoy this school holiday with the kids.”

If you think he’s being overdramatic, he’s not. This is an accurate representation of how I throw myself bodily at projects, and fuck shit up on the regular. That’s the joys of having hypermobility and flopsy bones and a hilarious/treacherous lack of co-ordination and ADHD and Autism and and and. So there’s this to do list, but there’s the overriding mission of:

Do.not.fuck.yourself.up.in.the.process.

Good life advice all around.

Right! On with the merry Mon-Do List!
