How to get kids to clean their rooms Tip 3
Do your kids want more toys, but you have no room? Once upon a time, my kids were born into a large family. It was so wonderful of family member to think of my kids and give them so many gifts. The problem was, my kids kept wanting more and more gifts, yet wouldn't clean up the toys that they had. I often had to yell at my kids to get them to clean their rooms. When I would ask them to donate their toys, the answer was a big “NO” because they loved all of their toys so much.
Get kids cleaning their rooms Tip 3:

During the holidays, if your kids are receiving more gifts than can possibly fit into your home, consider setting some aside. See which gifts your kids may not need or ones that your kids may already have more than one. Hide those gifts and save them. Possibilities could be that you give those gifts to your kids when they get older, but this only works for small children who would not remember what gifts they received in the past. You could also donate some of the gifts to toy donation bins during the holidays. I used to hide brand new toys in suitcases in my closet. It worked very well and saved me some money in the long run because I had fewer gifts to buy the next years. Then, when you ask your kids to clean up their rooms, there will be less stuff to clean!
The Underground Toy Society children's books can also be a fun way to talk to your kids about keeping their rooms clean to keep their toys happy, as well as instilling a sense of giving to others who may be less fortunate.
