Plotting and pantsing

I didn't know that I was a pantser when I wrote my first novel....

I jotted down a few thoughts about plotting and pantsing in my new blog post at douglaslumsden.blogpost.com.

D. Hall I'm a pantser too. My novel, The Rising, started off as a romance, then fell in the genre blender. I knew I wanted a vampire in it and it centred around an archaeologist but that was it. The main bad guy started life as the love interest. There were a lot of surprises and as such I think my readers get those surprises too. I plotted one novel and I felt it lacked spontaneity. It's still waiting to be rewritten.
