June 4, 2021: Kickstarter Reports, June 2021 Update

Car Wars continues to be a headache and is our greatest source of stress when it comes to crowdfunding efforts.

Many of our recent projects have been much smaller, easier campaigns with items produced in the United States, which has made the process flow smoother and faster. Unfortunately, we're about to tackle more large campaigns that require six to eight months to fulfill, but the only way we get new Pocket Box games, Wiz-War , and GURPS Girl Genius is to accept that not every Kickstarter campaign can wrap up within a single quarter.

As we've mentioned before, freight is a total wreck these days and we're at the mercy of the shipping companies. Making things harder, the game requires five containers, which means we have to wait as each of the containers come in and there's no telling how long it will take to receive all five. For planning purposes, we're now estimating ten weeks on the ocean for most containers . . . plus whatever port delays and warehouse troubles may strike. #protip Don't try and fulfill a massive Kickstarter campaign during a global pandemic and the aftermath of the pandemic.That's four open projects, two of which are in or moving into the fulfillment stage, one in funding, and Car Wars . It's going to be a glorious day when we can remove Car Wars from this report and when the game is in your hands. We're looking forward to seeing Car Wars pics online and reading your play reports.
