Please tell us one random thing we might not know about you.

I’m very involved with Guide Dogs for the Blind. I’ve been a puppy raiser, and now I’m a breeder custodian. It’s exciting to see what these wonderful dogs are able to do to help visually impaired people live full and independent lives.

Please tell us a bit more about the plot of At Lighthouse Point.

Blaine Grayson returns to Three Sisters Island with a grand plan--to take Camp Kicking Moose to the next level. Her dream starts to unravel when she discovers Moose Manor's kitchen has been badly remodeled by her sister, Cam, who doesn't know how to cook. Added to that blow is the cold shoulder given by her best friend, Artie Lotosky, now a doctor to the unbridged Maine islands.

As old wounds are opened, Blaine starts to wonder if she made a mistake by coming home. Little by little, she must let go of one dream to discover a new one, opening her heart to a purpose and a future she had never imagined.

What is it about Blaine that will make your readers care about her?

Blaine has had a few extra innings of adolescence…and she’s trying so very hard to catch up. A lot of people, I think, have a Blaine in their life and will appreciate what’s running through her mind.

I love that characterization--a few extra innings of adolescence. I think you're right--most of us either know or have been someone like Blaine. 
How do you restart the creative flow when you feel a block coming on?

Get. Away. From. The. Computer. Seriously! I go outside and take a walk or garden or play tennis. Fresh air for the brain works wonders for a re-boot.

Yes, the distraction often opens things up in the right hemisphere!
What is the last novel you read that you would recommend?

The Midnight Library by Matt Haig. It’s sweet…and sad…and there’s one pivotal scene that, to me, has a remarkably redemptive moment.

I read that as well. I think the overall theme is an important one, which made me think of two of my most favorite Christmas stories. I don't want to spoil anything by saying which ones...
What are you working on now?

I’m just about to turn in the first in a new series (still to be named). I’ll give you a few hints: it’s set on Cape Cod, in the summer (of course), and is all about an ice cream shop. Seriously delicious research required for this one!
